Overview
Ship approved order quantities with reservations, tracking detail, and FIFO cost.
Before you begin
Select the correct subsidiary and confirm the counterparty, currency, accounts, and reference data. Posting requires an allowed accounting period and the actions permitted by your configured role.
Main task
- Open an approved order and review quantities, locations, and reservations.
- Allocate eligible available stock using the supported action.
- Enter shipment quantities and required lot, serial, bin, or status detail.
- Post fulfillment and review the linked shipment.
- Compare shipped/billed quantities before creating a remaining invoice or return.
Check the result
Shipment consumes reservations and eligible inventory layers. Source-line and cost history support later returns.
If something goes wrong
The order must be approved, open, and not held. Serial counts and lot allocations must match base quantities. Expiry warns but does not create availability. A saved draft does not itself mean approval or posting. Follow the record’s current actions and review rejection feedback before resubmitting.
Review and supporting evidence
Review the saved header and line descriptions, amounts, VAT/WHT where used, and linked records. After approval/posting, inspect GL Impact where offered. Add supporting files or notes through the record’s communication area.
