Overview
Configure who can act on workflows and the approval steps those workflows require.
Before you begin
Administration exposes workflow permissions and approval settings to authorized administrators. Review intended segregation of duties and affected subsidiaries.
Main task
- Open Workflow Permissions and review per-role submit/approve settings for supported modules.
- Open Workflow Approval Settings and select the workflow to configure.
- Review the supported steps, eligible roles, and publication controls before saving/publishing a version.
- Verify assignments in the intended subsidiary and confirm which current step permits action.
- Review an affected record’s current workflow before changing configuration again.
Check the result
Configured action permissions operate alongside published approval steps and existing record/period checks. A role name alone is not proof that the user can act on every transaction.
If something goes wrong
If approval is blocked, inspect assignment, active subsidiary, step, and record state. Avoid adding broad admin rights to resolve a single workflow setup issue.
