Sales and Receipts

Invoices

Bill customers and review receivable, tax, and revenue impact.

Overview

Bill customers and review receivable, tax, and revenue impact.

Before you begin

Select the correct subsidiary and confirm the counterparty, currency, accounts, and reference data. Posting requires an allowed accounting period and the actions permitted by your configured role.

Main task

  1. Create a standalone invoice in Invoices, or use the sales-order billing action to preserve lineage.
  2. Select customer, dates, currency, rate, period, and receivable account where used.
  3. Review quantities, descriptions, VAT/WHT, source allocations, and manual overrides.
  4. Save and submit through invoice approval.
  5. Inspect approved GL impact, payments, deposits, credits, and recognition records.

Check the result

Posted invoices create the supported customer balance. Order invoices retain quantities; revenue follows captured policy and fulfillment state.

If something goes wrong

Periods, customer/item mappings, tax accounts, and excessive source quantities can block posting. Do not force recognition by changing an unrelated posting account. A saved draft does not itself mean approval or posting. Follow the record’s current actions and review rejection feedback before resubmitting.

Review and supporting evidence

Review the saved header and line descriptions, amounts, VAT/WHT where used, and linked records. After approval/posting, inspect GL Impact where offered. Add supporting files or notes through the record’s communication area.
